Clymer Pirates (7-2)

Coach: Dave Bodamer, second season

Home field: No name

Program founded: unknown

Outlook: All-star RB Jake Wiggers is back after missing a lot of the offseason workouts with hernia surgery. He’ll be running in front of a line that only includes one returner, Jared Heiser, who moves from center to tackle . “Jake’s going to have to learn to make one move, and hit the hole,” said Bodamer. “He’s going to have to be more disciplined that way. Senior QB Matt Destevens can escape pressure and make things happen. Senior TE/FS Mitch Einink is a silent leader as well as a hard-nosed player. Junior Jared Dennewold is the only returner to the DL. Senior Garrett McAfoose returns at LB. Of the 18 players on the roster, 11 are seniors. The JV team has merged with Sherman for this year, perhaps providing a preview of what the varsity may do next year.
