Allentown woman mugged, robbed in Irving Place attack

An Allentown woman was robbed early Monday by a man who followed her as she walked north on Irving Place.

The victim told police she was confronted about 12:30 a.m., when the bandit grabbed her, covered her mouth and pushed her to the ground. The attacker stole a purse containing cash, a credit card, debit card and other personal belongings.

Police found a pair of black sandals in the middle of the street near Irving Place. Investigators said it is possible the shoes belong to the attacker.. Police also were also checking surveillance cameras near the attack scene.
