Niagara adds four basketball players

Niagara University men’s basketball coach Chris Casey announced the addition of three freshman recruits and one transfer to the Purple Eagles team for the 2013-14 season.

The freshman newcomers are guards Cameron Fowler and Wesley Myers and forward Ramone Snowden. Forward Marcus Ware is a senior transfer from Monmouth (N.J.)

Fowler, 6-feet from Detroit, redshirted last season at Iowa State and will be eligible to play this season. He was a four-year starter at University of Detroit-Jesuit High. Myers, 6-1, played at Boys & Girls High in Brooklyn on teams that won three straight PSAL Class AA titles and a state title in 2012. He averaged 15.9 points in his career. Snowden, 6-5, played at Kellam High in Virginia Beach, Va., where he helped the team to 76 wins, two district titles and two district tournament championships. As a senior he averaged 22 points and 15 rebounds a game with 22 double-doubles.

Ware, 6-8, 215, averaged 6.7 points and 4.0 rebounds in 85 games during four years at Monmouth. Because he redshirted after two games in his freshman season, he has one year of eligibility remaining.
