Dixon working hard to reduce train noise
A recent letter criticized Lynn Dixon, the legislator in the 9th Erie County Legislative District. No one is more accessible than her. She is experienced in dealing with issues not only in her area of Hamburg, Lackawanna and South Buffalo but in the county in general. She is well-liked.
Recently she facilitated with the Hamburg Town Council a committee to eliminate train horn noise along the railroad right of way through Hamburg. This effort had been stalled for six years. Once the train noise is stopped, the model can be used in other communities. The committee she is involved with can then begin to monitor just what these trains are transporting through our area to avoid the type of catastrophe that recently occurred in Quebec. Almost 25,000 people live along the tracks in Hamburg between Rodgers, Cloverbank, Pleasant and Lakeview roads.
