Selena mum on Swift

Did Taylor Swift really utter an expletive to Selena Gomez when One Direction and former love interest Harry Styles took the stage for the MTV Video Music Awards?

Don’t ask Selena Gomez.

Swift’s seemingly foul-mouthed reaction shot lit up social networks and became an instant GIF. But Gomez reprimanded a reporter who asked what Swift said at the premiere of Gomez’s new film, “Getaway,” on Monday.

“Don’t try that with me,” Gomez told him.

The young star later said that she’s protective of her friends.

Longtime animal lover

“I’m a big animal lover. My family and I do dog rescues a couple of times a year,” says Hollywood actor Rob Lowe, adding that as a surfer, he’s keenly aware of the importance of clean oceans and marine life conservation. For these reasons, he was eager to participate in and raise awareness for Dawn dishwashing liquid’s “The Big Picture” project and narrate its Webisode series.

“Lowe’s passion for wildlife began at a young age with a generous act,” says Michelle Lohman, communications manager for Dawn at Procter & Gamble. “At 15, he won ‘The $10,000 Pyramid’ game show, then donated all of his winnings to a local animal rescue organization.”

Throughout the years, he has seen first-hand how human interaction not only affects beach conditions, but also negatively impacts animals’ wellbeing.

Francis gets jail, probation

“Girls Gone Wild” creator Joe Francis was sentenced Tuesday to 270 days in jail and three years’ probation for an assault and false imprisonment of three women.

As part of the sentence, he must also complete a year of psychological counseling.

Francis was convicted of five charges – three counts of false imprisonment, one of dissuading a witness from reporting and one of assault causing great bodily injury – stemming from a Jan. 29, 2011, incident.

The judge handed down the sentence after denying Francis’ lawyer’s motion for a new trial based on claims that one of the accusers lied during the trial and the three women went willingly to the home and were never falsely imprisoned.

The judge told Francis the women “were very credible” and that he deserved to be punished.

No ’N Sync reunion

Don’t get your heart set on anything more than the 90-second ’N Sync reunion seen on the MTV Video Music Awards. The performance marked the first time the band played together in 11 years, and also the last time they’ll do it, at least for a while.

Lance Bass said Monday on Sirius XM the band focused on that one performance. Part of the reason is that Justin Timberlake begins his solo tour this fall.

As for the VMA’s, Bass commented on the controversial performance by Miley Cyrus.

Bass says his young nieces and nephews watched the show to finally see him perform in ’N Sync.

“I didn’t know I had to warn them that their little Hannah Montana was going to be naked and humping a finger,” he said.
