Boxing card planned for Buffalo

Rochester-based Pretty Girl Promotions is planning to hold a pro boxing card Oct. 4 at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, according to promoter/company president Mercedes Vazquez Simmons.

The eight-fight card will start at 7 p.m. with tickets to go sale some time next week. The eight-round main event pits Carlos DeLeon Jr. (21-3-2, 14 KOs) against Russell Jordan (15-10, 10 KOs) of Rochester.

DeLeon is sthe on of former cruiserweight champion Carlos and nephew of Juan DeLeon, who lives in Kenmore and trained Baby Joe Mesi.

Buffalo cruiserweight Greg Brady will face a to-be-determined foe in a six-round co-feature.

Vazquez Simmons, who has staged four cards in Rochester including one at Frontier Field earlier this month, is still finalizing the October event but plans to have a good number of Western New York’s pros on the card.
