Cyclists ought to wear bright clothing, helmets

This summer has tragically produced the usual large number of collisions between motorcycles and autos. Automobile drivers involved in these accidents often report not seeing the cyclist. Despite this fact, a majority of cyclists continue to wear dark clothing.

Cyclists’ clothing matters. A significant fraction of an approaching motorcycle’s silhouette is contributed by the motorcyclist. Come on, motorcyclists. Take charge of your own safety and help motorists see you. Wear bright clothing and bright helmets.
