The RJ Janitorial-Kenmore Summer Dogs beat Frontier, 2-1, to repeat as the 16U Police Athletic league baseball champions. The Summer Dogs finished the season 13-0. Jeff White pitched 10 innings with 16 strikeouts. The team was coached by Kenmore East varsity coach Leslie Simon, Rick Jones and Jeremy Smith. The team was comprised of players from Kenmore East, Kenmore West and Canisius: They are Rick Deibolst, Ryan Hussar, Conor Hoar, Jake Jones, Luke Jones, Nick Lobociaro, Mike Marcinski, Preston Smith, Cullen Smythe, McQuaid Smythe, Luke Stewart and Jeff White.


BASEBALL: The Cheektowaga Southline Warriors 11U Travel team will hold tryouts next Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and Aug. 31 at 5:30 p.m., at Southline Little League Fields, 293 N. Seine Drive, Cheektowaga. For more info, contact Aaron, 609-4041

SOCCER: West Seneca U15 girls travel team will hold tryouts Thursday, 6 p.m., in the West Seneca Soccer Complex, 3747 Seneca St. Registration is at snack bar at 5:45 p.m. and is open to any girl with a birth date after July 31, 1998. For information, contact Max at tatarski2293@verizon.net.

SOFTBALL: Town of Wheatfield Nitro 12U White team is looking for pitchers. The team will play in the Lewiston Peach Cobbler Festival Tourney in September, and in the Metro League Schedule, and an out-of-state tournament. Out of town residents are welcome. Contact Christopher, 432-5853 for information. …Team Mizuno 14U Gold-Weaver needs one player for its 2014 team. Must be a 1999 birth year. The ideal candidate is a catcher who can hit and play a second position. It will play in the 16U NFL league, 16U Sahlens and compete in 10-12 tournaments, including the Nationals.
