NIAGARA FALLS – After assurances from an attendant at Niagara Majestic Tours that its lot in the 6500 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard was “the safest parking lot to park in,” the driver of a rented van from Delaware told police Tuesday that it was hit by thieves while he and his passengers were taking a four-hour bus tour.

The driver said the van’s lock was heavily damaged and many items were missing, including a total of $1,350 in cash, $200 worth of clothing, credit cards, a Romanian passport, and a $400 Blackberry cell phone.

The driver said he found it suspicious that the attendant immediately began to say how safe the lot was when they bought tickets for the tour. The attendant was gone when the group returned.
