Event: Irwin Tools Night Race

Site: Bristol, Tenn.

Schedule: Friday, practice (Fox Sports 1, noon-3:30 p.m.), qualifying (ESPN2, 5:30-7 p.m.); Saturday, race, 7:30 p.m. (ABC, 7-11 p.m.).

Track: Bristol Motor Speedway (oval, 0.533 miles).

Race distance: 500 laps, 266.5 miles.

Last year: Denny Hamlin raced to the third of his five 2012 victories.

Last week: Joey Logano won a fuel-mileage race at Michigan. Kevin Harvick was second.

Fast facts: Tony Stewart, sidelined by a broken leg, has turned over Stewart-Haas Racing’s No. 14 Chevrolet to Mark Martin for 12 of the final 13 races. The 54-year-old Martin was released from his part-time schedule at Michael Waltrip Racing, with New Hampshire winner Brian Vickers taking over MWR’s No. 55 Toyota. At Talladega next month, Austin Dillon will drive the No. 14 and Waltrip will be in the No. 55. ... Five-time series champion Jimmie Johnson leads the standings, 41 points ahead of Clint Bowyer. Johnson and Matt Kenseth share the series victory lead with four. … Kasey Kahne won the March race at the track.

Race distance: 200 laps, 133.25 miles.

Last year: Joey Logano raced to the sixth of his nine 2012 victories.

Last week: AJ Allmendinger won at Mid-Ohio for his second road-course victory in his lone series start this season for Penske Racing.

Fast facts: Sprint Cup driver Kyle Busch has eight Nationwide victories this year to push his series-record total to 59. He won the March race at the track to tie Kevin Harvick’s Bristol series victory record of five. … Sam Hornish Jr. leads the season standings. Elliott Sadler is 13 points back, Regan Smith and Austin Dillon are 15 points behind, and Brian Vickers is 18 points back.

Last race: Chip Ganassi Racing’s Charlie Kimball won at Mid-Ohio on Aug. 4 for his first series victory.

Fast facts: Penske’s Helio Castroneves leads the season standings, 31 points ahead of Ganassi’s Scott Dixon with five races left. Dixon and Andretti Autosport’s James Hinchcliffe share the season victory lead at three. … Power won at the track in 2010 and 2011 after breaking his back in 2009 in practice at the circuit. He’s winless this year. … American Le Mans Series star Lucas Luhr is making his series debut in a car fielded by Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing in partnership with RW Motorsports.

Fast facts: Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel leads the standings and has a series-high four victories. The three-time defending series champion has a 38-point lead over Lotus’ Kimi Raikkonen.
