NIAGARA FALLS – An unnamed female employee is suspected of taking $2,500 in cash while working a shift as a finance cage cashier, the Seneca Niagara Casino’s head of security reports.

He said that after the 43-year-old woman completed her shift from 10:15 p.m. on July 25 to 6:15 a.m. on July 26, the finance cage manager did a count of the drawer and found it $2,500 short. The main bank cashier also did a drawer count and found it short. The suspect reportedly counted her drawer at the end of the shift and found no shortfall.

The security staff reported the theft to police on Tuesday and said security video and statements from other staff are available. The woman is no longer employed by the casino, according the security chief.
