Man sentenced to 25 years for robbery, assault on 80-year-old woman

A man convicted of robbery, burglary and assault for pistol-whipping and choking an 80-year-old woman was sentenced to 25 years to life in state prison by State Supreme Court Justice Christopher Burns, Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III announced Tuesday.

Tige Billingsley, 32, was already on parole for burglary convictions when he invaded the woman’s Buffalo home and duct-taped her, authorities said. He then pistol-whipped her, stomped upon her and choked her to unconsciousness, according to Sedita.

Billingsley fled Erie County but was captured in Arizona, officials said. He already had 15 criminal convictions, four of which were for violent felonies, authorities said.
