A 40-year-old former Buffalo man now living in Warsaw was arrested after a lengthy investigation involving sexual images of children, State Police in Warsaw announced today.
James R. Weaver III, who also previously lived in Vermont, was picked up Thursday on a warrant charging him with felony counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child younger than 17 and possessing a sexual performance by a child younger than 16.
According to police, Weaver had been under investigation since 2010 by the State Police Computer Crimes Unit and the FBI-Buffalo Cyber Task Force. He was found in possession of images and/or videos of the sexual performance of a child, police said.
Following arraignment before Wyoming County Court Judge Mark H. Dadd, Weaver was sent to the county jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
