The Buffalo Irish Festival returns to Canalside on the waterfront this weekend with three days of Irish entertainment, dance, genealogy, food, beverages and an artisan market with more than two dozen vendors.
Festivities kick off with the Parade of Irish County Flags on the boardwalk at 5 p.m. Friday. Hours are 5 to 11 p.m. Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Headlining the continual lineup of music on two stages will be Enter the Haggis, a Toronto-based roots-rock band; the Glengharry Bhoys, an alternative Celtic band; and Burning Bridget Cleary, an up-and-coming Celtic band. They will perform on all three days of the festival. For a schedule, visit www.BuffaloIrish.com.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and children 4 to 12. Presale tickets for $6 are available at Wegmans stores, Shannon Pub, the Buffalo Brewpub and the Tara Gift Shoppe. A $1 discount on admission at the gate will be given to those with a valid Metro Rail pass or ticket stub.
