A Buffalo man who accepted a $700 deposit for a fence job in Cheektowaga but never did the work was sentenced Monday to 15 days in jail.

Keith L. Knox, 42, of Wheelock Street, received the maximum sentence from Cheektowaga Town Justice Paul Piotrowski, who noted Knox’s prior criminal record. The sentence will be served in the Erie County Correctional Facility in Alden.

Knox, who already has made restitution to the victim, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of disorderly conduct in connection with the July 2011 crime.
