A blaze in the city’s Delavan-Grider neighborhood caused $60,000 in damage to a 2½-story house Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters with the 3rd Battalion, 4th Platoon responded to the fire at 218 Cambridge Ave. shortly after noon. Fire officials said the blaze, which was brought under control by 1:22 p.m., extended from a second-floor bedroom to the kitchen. Damage was estimated at $40,000 to the building and $20,000 to contents. the cause is under investigation.
The Red Cross is assisting two adults and four children.
