Two accused of drug smuggling during jail visitation

MAYVILLE – Two people were arrested Friday at the Chautauqua County Jail after a visitor tried to smuggle suboxone strips to an inmate during visiting hours, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.

Maylee Nunez, 33, of Jamestown, was visiting Christian O. Opio, also of Jamestown, and officers saw Nunez hand Opio an item in the visiting room, deputies said.

Both were charged with promoting prison contraband, criminal possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child because Nunez’s 14-year-old daughter was with her, officials said.
