Two arrested in Jamestown robbery and beating

Jamestown police late Monday night arrested a 19-year-old male and a juvenile in connection with the robbery and beating of another man on Prospect Street.

The two young people are accused of pushing the man to the ground and continuing to strike him before taking his gym shoes and some items from his pockets shortly before 11:30 p.m., police said. The victim suffered facial injuries.

Officers charged Jackson K. Knappenberger, 19, of Jamestown, with robbery, assault, criminal possession of stolen property and endangering the welfare of a child. Police are continuing to investigate their case against the 15-year-old alleged accomplice.
