NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. – The Niagara Falls Fire Department used its newly-acquired davit arm Sunday afternoon to lift an injured man out of the Niagara Gorge after a mishap on the Niagara Glen Recreational Trail, the Niagara Parks Police Service reported.

The man, identified as a 70-year-old Niagara Falls resident, was taken to Greater Niagara General Hospital with a suspected broken ankle, police said. The Niagara Parks Police Service High Angle River Team, Niagara Emergency Services and the fire department were called to the scene shortly after 2 p.m.
