West Seneca wins in Legion tournament

West Seneca Post 735 stayed alive Friday in the Mid-Atlantic Region American Legion baseball tournament in Brooklawn, N.J. The team defeated Funkstown, Md., 8-5, in the first round of the losers’ bracket.

Mike Prentice led West Seneca on offense with two hits and two runs batted in. Ian Allen was the winning pitcher, allowing four runs in seven innings.

West Seneca will play at 12 noon today against South Charleston, WV, which lost to New Castle, Del., on Friday night. The competition runs through Monday.
