A Kenmore man who accidentally left his cellphone at a slot machine of the Buffalo Seneca Creek Casino early Wednesday rang up the phone on another cellphone and confronted the thief, police said.

Ramon Byrd, 43, of Perry Street was charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property and menacing at his Perry Street home, where the cellphone was recovered as well as a knife used to threaten the victim, police said.

Police said the victim followed Byrd outside the casino, where he dialed the stolen device. When he confronted Byrd and asked him to return the cellphone, the suspect threatened him with a knife and drove off, police said. The victim, meanwhile, reported the license plate number of the car to police, authorities said.
