The District Parent Coordinating Council and Community Health Worker Network of Buffalo are hosting a community rally at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday to encourage the Buffalo Teachers Federation to end its grievance against the Buffalo Public Schools regarding the “breakfast in the classroom” program.

Organizers are encouraging parents, teachers and students to come to the BTF office at 271 Porter Ave. to show their commitment to the breakfast program and ask the union to work with them to address any issues that are preventing its support for this program.

The union has filed a grievance against the district, stating that the program – which gives students free breakfasts in the classroom – creates unsanitary conditions and detracts from instructional time.
