Vive, the nation’s largest refugee shelter, finally has a playground.

The play area, created with the help of grants from the Helen Brach Foundation and the Ronald McDonald Foundation, opened Monday and was immediately put to use by the 40 children currently living with their families in the shelter at 50 Wyoming St. on Buffalo’s East Side.

Vive officials noted that the new playground is missing just one element – mulch. Donations for mulch are being sought.
