A Concert and Luminaria display to mark completion of garden plantings in the first phase of a multistage beautification of Sisti Park will be presented from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Franklin and North streets, immediately adjacent to Linwood Avenue. It’s free and open to the public. Performers include the Six String Circus, a six-person jazz guitar ensemble from Hutchinson Central Technical High School; a string ensemble, the Buffalo Boys; and Danielle DiStefano, who will sing selections from the Great American Songbook. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in Ascension Church across North Street from the park. Parking is available in the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site parking lot; enter from Delaware Avenue. Following the concert, luminarias can be viewed along Linwood on foot or by car.


Orchard Park Garden Club will meet Thursday in the Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, 4369 S. Buffalo St. Sign-ups at 11:30 a.m.; refreshments at noon. The program begins at 12:30 p.m. “A Salute to the Movies,” the club’s Standard Flower Show to be held Sept. 7-8 at Fox Run, Orchard Park, will be discussed. Scholarship winners Joshua Ballisteri and Kyle Lambert will speak about their school experiences.


The ninth annual free and self-guided Black Rock & Riverside Tour of Gardens of more than 50 gardens will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 3. The Starry Night Garden Tour of 25 illuminated gardens will run that evening from 8 to 10 p.m. Maps and merchandise will be available during daytime tour hours at two headquarters: St. Mark’s & All Saints’ Church, 311 Ontario St., and Buffalo Religious Arts Center, 157 East St. Maps also will be available at area businesses or by calling Council Member Joe Golombek’s office before the event at 851-5116. They also can be downloaded online at www.brrtourofgardens.com.

A Black Rock History Tour will be conducted by Golombek at 11 a.m. tour day. Meet at Buffalo Religious Arts Center. Cost is $8 per person; proceeds will benefit the garden tour. The Religious Arts Center will also have its own docent tours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., $10 per person.
