The West Side Rowing Club has scholarships available for its camp for middle school students who are new to rowing.
The Summer Crew Camp, tailored to beginning rowers aged 12-15, will start Monday and go through Aug. 16.
The camp runs 8:30 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. The cost is $435, with up to four full scholarships available for teens with financial need.

Part of the scholarship funds are due to a $1,500 grant made to West Side Rowing by the Buffalo Bills Youth Foundation. The grant is to help attract students from the Buffalo Public Schools to the sport of rowing.
BASEBALL: The UB team offers a camp for young baseball players in the area, to be held Aug. 12-14 at the Northtown Center. The youth camp will offer specific training for youths age 7-12. All three sessions run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Players will rotate through instructional stations consisting of infield, outfield, pitching, baserunning and hitting. Campers should bring a lunch along with a glove and cleats, with catchers bringing their equipment as well.
