Workers at Williamsville Suburban Nursing Home will vote July 23 on a tentative labor agreement that union and management negotiators reached Wednesday.
About 200 workers covered by the agreement are represented by 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East. The union’s negotiating committee is unanimously recommending approval of the deal.
The union says details of the deal will be released after balloting. The workers – certified nursing assistants, licensed practical nurses, activity aides, maintenance staff and unit clerks – voted last November to join the union.
Workers at the nursing home had authorized their union to issue a strike notice to management if a deal had not been reached during negotiations today.
