A Buffalo man who operated a store in Lackawanna pleaded guilty to food stamp fraud, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Monday.

Tofeek Albanna, 36, obtained more than $73,400 in fraudulent food stamp benefits at his store, LA Fashion, over a 16-month stretch, authorities said.

He was exchanging food stamp benefits for cash and allowed the purchase of prohibited items in exchange for food stamp benefits, officials said.

He is facing up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 in fines.
