High School Extra: I-Prep rolls on

I-Prep, Riverside roll on

International Prep at Grover Cleveland remained unbeaten (5-0) in D’Youville Cup boys soccer with a 5-0 triumph over Olmsted at All High Stadium. Pa Lu, a freshman, had a pair of goals, giving him eight for the season. Christian Gaetan, Kee Doe and Mohamed Nasher had single tallies, and Ibraham Omar registered the shutout.

“He faced only one shot on goal because we have a great defender in Ezana Kahsay,” said I-Prep coach Tony Alessi.

Riverside (6-0), which has not been scored on yet, triumphed over da Vinci, 7-0, as Hanid Put had four goals. I-Prep and Riverside will meet at 4 p.m. on Friday at Riverside Field.

Flames rally for win

“Outstanding defense won it for us. It was an unbelievable comeback in a match worthy of two ranked teams,” said East coach Scott Wright.

In ECIC I, Frontier (5-1) triumphed over Lancaster (4-2) in four sets to take over first place. Kaitlyn Long had 11 digs and Abby Booth had five blocks for the Falcons.
