The Coalition of Black Trade Unionistselected Terrence L. Melvin president. Melvin, who is also the secretary-treasurer of the New York State AFL-CIO, succeeds William Lucy, who had held the position since he co-founded CBTU in 1972.

Melvin, who was already a member of the CBTU national executive council, is a founding member of the CBTU Buffalo Chapter. He is a graduate of the Rochester Center for Theological and Biblical Studies.

The Elmwood Village Association named Christopher N. Ollinick to its board of directors. Ollinick, an associate in the Tax, Economic and Land Development and Affordable Housing practice groups at Jaeckle Fleischmann & Mugel, will also serve as chairman of the association's Economic Development Committee.

Gross Shuman Brizdle & Gilfillan attorney Les Greenbaum was a featured speaker at the 2012 Black Music Month Conference recently sponsored by WUFO Mix 1080 AM. Greenbaum spoke on the basics of music law, drawing on more than 30 years' experience advising clients in the music recording, music publishing and touring industries.
