Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus chief operating officer Patrick J. Whalen recently spoke at the International Association of Science Parks' 29th annual World Conference in Tallinn, Estonia. Whalen's talk was titled "Business Incubation in Science Parks."

The law firm Nixon Peabody was recognized with a Gold Standard Certification Award from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum, an organization dedicated to advancing the interests of women at law firms. Jamestown Mattress opened its tenth and newest showroom at 6412 South Transit Road in Lockport. The former Lockport Mattress Company, founded by Randy Pegan, is a family-owned manufacturer and retailer of dozens of pre-engineered models that are American made. Each mattress is produced in the company's Jamestown factory.
