A memorial Mass for Mary C. Tiede, a retired teacher and librarian, will be offered at 9:15 a.m. Monday in St. Leo the Great Chapel, 885 Sweet Home Road, Amherst. She died May 25 in her daughter's East Aurora home following a long illness.
The Amherst resident was 94.
The former Mary Weckerle, a Buffalo native, graduated from D'Youville College. She later earned a master's degree in education from the University of Buffalo and a master of library science degree from Geneseo State College.
Mrs. Tiede taught at St. Mary's School for the Deaf and, from 1961 to 1972, she was a librarian at Sweet Home Middle School.
She was a lifetime member of the Buffalo Museum of Science; the Women's Health Initiative of the National Institutes of Health; and UB's Mini-Medical School.
Her husband of 42 years, William P., died in 1989.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann Conway; a son, Michael W.; and two brothers, Francis and Norbert.
