Concerts in park begin tonight

Angola's summer concert series, which begins today, will offer an 11-week lineup that will showcase a variety of music, from Caribbean to country, jazz to swing.

The Summer Lawn Chair Concert Series opens with Crash Cadillac, with vocals by Linda Giancarlo, at 7 p.m. today at the William G. Houston Gazebo in Angola's Centennial Park.

The concert series -- which marks its 30th year at the park bounded by High, Center and Park streets -- will begin at 7 p.m. each Wednesday through Aug. 29.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Girl Scouts from the Evans-Brant area will operate the concession stand.
