STRAWBERRY SOCIAL: The Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, 626 Oliver St., North Tonawanda, will host a strawberry social from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Parish Hall. The menu will include hot dogs, hamburgers, macaroni salad, baked beans, beverage and strawberry shortcake. The public is invited.

WEST SIDE CLEANUP: Volunteers from the Belle Center and local block clubs will clean up a community garden and vacant lots from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Targeted are the community garden on Seventh and Pennsylvania streets, and vacant lots at Seventh and Hudson streets and Seventh and Jersey streets. WOUNDED WARRIOR: Best Fitness will host a community TRX event to sample this form of fitness and donate to the Wounded Warrior Project from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at 2309 Eggert Road, Town of Tonawanda. SUMMER DAY CAMP: The Delavan Grider Community Center, 877 E. Delavan Ave., is offering a Summer Adventure Day Camp from Monday through Aug. 17. The camp, for children 4 to 13, will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided. Activities include weekly field trips to places like Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, Martin's Fantasy Island, the Buffalo Zoo, Hidden Valley Animal Adventure and Tift Nature Preserve. Campers also will participate in Mayor Brown's Summer Reading Challenge, sports, gym & fitness activities, arts and crafts, and academic enrichment activities. CHARITY HOOPS: The community is invited to a charity basketball game hosted by the Belle Center, Buffalo Fire Department and Buffalo AmeriCorps, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. June 30 at D'Youville College, 320 Porter Ave. Money will be raised to honor youth participants in the free, eight-week basketball program at the Belle Center.
