COX - James Died peacefully on January 8, 2012, after a prolonged illness. He was 96. He was married for 64 years to his devoted wife Betty, who preceded him in death in 2002. He is survived by his five children, 10 grandchildren & six great- grandchildren. James was born in Pittsburgh, PA & graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University with a degree in engineering where he met and married his beautiful wife, Betty. During World War II, James served in the Navy as a Gunnery Officer & upon discharge, brought his family to Buffalo. He founded a small manufacturing business in the plastics industry which began a lifelong interest in entrepreneurial pursuits, which he continued up until he died. James was active in the Presbyterian Church as well as the YMCA, holding positions of leadership in both throughout his life. He donated his body to the UB Medical School for medical research. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Church, on June 23, 2012 at 3 PM with a short reception to follow at the church. All who knew Jim are encouraged to come.
