Bomb threat at ECMC is false

An Erie County Medical Center employee Thursday morning found a bomb threat etched into a bathroom wall and a package under it, prompting an evacuation of patients and staff from the main building one day after a fatal shooting forced a lockdown of the hospital.

Buffalo police found no bomb, and people were allowed to return to the building after 50 minutes, said Thomas J. Quatroche Jr., ECMC's senior vice president of marketing and planning.
