A Blood Cancer Family Support group meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Gilda's Club WNY, 1140 Delaware Ave. Registration is requested for new members. "Advances in Joint Replacement" will be presented from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Williamsville Diagnostic Center, 400 International Drive, Williamsville. Dr. Joseph Falcone, chief of orthopedic surgery at Sisters of Charity Hospital, will talk about total knee and hip replacement surgery and what to expect during the recovery and rehabilitation phases. The ALS Association will hold a support group meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday in the first-floor board room of Dent Neurological Institute, 3980 Sheridan Drive, Amherst. A representative from ALS' Care Services department will talk about results from Advocacy in Washington, D.C., and a presenter from Hospice Buffalo will speak about how hospice care is beneficial to people with ALS.
