POEMS

>Parallel Gravity

By Dan Sicoli

zero moon

mid-december

frozen blanket long due for sewer

and the dashboard flashes red:

low coolant

twenty miles to the county line

midnight is a crow gone listless

risks what the heart won't publicize

i keep looking to the sky

measled with glitter remote as evening's memories

and trust the repeating words

of that coyote girl

and acquiesce

home is this night drive

and absolution is an arch over water

i have yet to tread

the horizon is a mule's lure

an elusive hostage

DAN SICOLI will join his fellow Slipstream Magazine co-editors Robert Borgatti and Livio Farallo in an Earth's Daughters Gray Hair Series reading at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hallwalls Cinema, 341 Delaware Ave. (near Tupper Street) in Buffalo.
