Janice Coatsworth Boneberg, widow of a former advertising manager of the Courier-Express, Thomas R. Schaeffer, died May 31. She was 87.
Born in Buffalo, where she was a lifelong resident, she worked as a secretary for Norman Duffield Insurance Co. during World War II.
Mrs. Boneberg was a graduate of Buffalo Seminary and a member of the Cherry Hill Club, Buffalo Canoe Club, Buffalo Yacht Club, the Garret Club and the Junior League of Buffalo.
She loved her family and enjoyed playing bridge and golf, family members said.
Her first husband, Thomas R. Schaeffer, died many years ago. Her second husband, Robert Boneberg, died in 1993.
Survivors include a daughter, Debi Sharick; a son, Thomas R. Schaeffer Jr.; and a sister, Marilyn Wadsworth.
Mrs. Boneberg donated her body to the University of Buffalo Medical School. At her request, there will be no memorial services.
