SUSAN G. KOMEN RACE REGISTRATION: Those planning to run in the 12th annual Susan G. Komen Western New York Race for the Cure will be able to preregister and pick up their race packets from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in the Larkin at Exchange Building, 726 Exchange St. Parking is available in the lot directly across from building. The race will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday on Lincoln Parkway.

WOODS WALK: Cornell Cooperative Extension of Wyoming County will host a woods walk with Peter Smallidge and Mark Whitmore, Extension associates in the department of natural resources in the College of Agriculture and Life Science at Cornell University, at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at 2320 Centerline Road, Varysburg. The event will be beneficial to land/forest owners who want to learn more about forest dynamics and individuals interested in becoming more hands-on with their forest management strategies. CHICKEN AND RIBS BARBECUE: Church of the Holy Communion, Route 5 and Old Lake Shore Road, Lake View, will have its annual Chicken & Ribs by BW's Barbecue from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday or until sold out. The cost is $11 for adults and $5 for children 11 and under. There also will be hot dogs for $2 each. You can take out or eat in. The event includes an auction, and baked goods and wood handicrafts for sale.
