Plane crashes, hits bus, killing all 10 in vehicle

ACCRA, Ghana (AP) -- A cargo plane attempting to land at an airport in Ghana's capital crashed Saturday night, slamming into a bus loaded with passengers on a nearby street, killing all 10 people on the bus, emergency responders said.

The crash occurred near Kotoka International Airport, which sits near newly built high-rise buildings, hotels and the country's Defense Ministry. Witnesses said the plane first smashed through the fence that runs around the airport before hitting the bus.

Gays, lesbians march for more rights

WARSAW, Poland (AP) -- Hundreds of gays, lesbians and their supporters marched Saturday through the capitals of Poland and Latvia, demanding more rights in Eastern European societies where they still face intolerance.

About 2,500 people turned out in Warsaw while 400 braved rain and hail to march in Riga, Latvia.

Both marches required massive police protection. Previous gay pride parades in the Baltics and Poland have been marred by violence, though this year the opponents were few.

In Riga, U.S. diplomats took part in the march. They said Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has asked American officials to be more active in promoting equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people throughout the world.
