The Erie County Department of Health is offering a series of free "Be Active, Erie County" guided walks at parks in June.
Participants will learn ways to get healthy; will be offered such health screenings as blood pressure and body-mass index; and will have access to health educational materials and information on smoking-cessation.
Registration for the walks begins at 9 a.m. at each site. The meeting places for each walk will be posted at park entrances.
The walks include:
Saturday, Como Lake Park.
June 9, Akron Falls Park.
June 16, Emery Park.
June 23, Times Beach Nature Preserve.
June 30, Sprague Brook Park.
In addition to the Department of Health, the walks are sponsored by the nonprofit Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo.
