Police seek two female suspects in robbery of Community Bank

Two women are being sought in connection with the robbery of the Community Bank at 3140 W. State St. here about 11:15 a.m. Friday.

State police described the bank robber as a heavyset white woman, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with shoulder-length brownish red hair.

When the woman walked into the bank, she was wearing a light blue or navy blue and white striped shirt and jean shorts. She also was wearing a multicolored bandanna, sunglasses and flip-flops or sandals. Police said she gave tellers a note saying she had a weapon and demanded money.

The robber never displayed a weapon in the bank.

She was seen fleeing north on foot and an investigation indicated she may have changed into a black, short-sleeved shirt at a nearby store after leaving the bank.

The robbery may be associated with another woman, another white female with longer dark hair and wearing blue jeans, a bluish long-sleeved shirt with tan sleeves.

The second woman of interest was seen in a charcoal gray late-model Chevrolet Blazer or GMC Jimmy with a roof rack, spare tire on the back and a possible bug shield near the bank around the time of the holdup.

Police ask anyone who witnessed or has information regarding the bank job to contact the State Police Amity Bureau at (585) 268-9030.
