Saturday, Old Falls Street will be the scene of a mighty roar that could -- just could -- drown out the Niagara. Old Falls Street, USA, is teaming up with the Arts Services Initiative of Western New York to present "WNY Sound Smash."
The Sound Smash features members of a new group called Music Culture 716. It includes musicians from the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus, Music is Art, the Western New York Blues Society, the Buffalo Gay Men's Chorus and the Colored Musicians Club. They will be performing separately and in collaboration.
Completing the afternoon will be wine and beer tastings from the Results Group. Members of the Niagara Frontier Plein Air Painters will also be there to paint the downtown Niagara Falls landscape. The WNY Sound Smash takes place on Old Falls Street's Middle Block from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free. For more information, call 278-2100.
