The Buffalo branch of the American Association of University Women honored Maryann Saccomando Freedman, of counsel for the Buffalo and Amherst law offices of Cohen & Lombardo, with the 2012 Achievement Award recently for her many years of advocacy in gender equality and respect.

Phillips Lytle attorney Sean C. McPhee will serve as moderator at the Erie Institute of Law's "Life After Law School: Basic Practice 101" seminar, a transitional continuing legal education program designed to assist newly admitted attorneys as they assume primary practice responsibilities.

Nativity Miguel Middle School of Buffalo honored Travers Collins with the Michael P. Kirwan "Shining Light" Award for the agency's work on a promotional video for the school, "Erasing Barriers." The John R. Oishei Foundation helped sponsor the video production. Travers Collins enlisted the pro bono services of Chris King of Chris King Productions and Jim Gribbins of Gribbins Films to produce the video. Shaun Mullins of Propellerhead Media also contributed an original music score.
