Florence B. Dombek, the former owner of Dombek's Liquor Store on William Street in Cheektowaga and a lifelong area resident, died Saturday in Buffalo General Medical Center after heart valve replacement at the Cleveland Clinic in February. She was 87.
Born Florence Kasprzyk, she built and opened the liquor store in 1968 with her husband, Joseph. After his death in 1975, she ran the business until it was sold in 2002.
She was a member of St. Josaphat Catholic Church since 1955.
Mrs. Dombek was involved in the Adam Plewacki Post Dance Committee, the William Street Taxpayers and was an honorary firefighter with Doyle Hose Company No. 1.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon and Karen; a son, Joseph; a sister, Stella Sobkowiak; and a brother, Edward Kasprzyk.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m. Friday in St. Josaphat Church, 20 Peoria Ave., Cheektowaga, after prayers at 10:45 in Barron-Miller Funeral Home, 3025 William St., Cheektowaga.
