Buffalo Medical Group named Marilyn Chapman director of human resources. Chapman previously served in human resources management at WNY Information Network, Sheehan Health Network and St. John Business Corporation. She is an alumna of Howard University and the University of New York, Empire State College where she earned bachelor's and master's degrees.

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center appointed Dr. Timothy G. Murphy director of its Osteopathic Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Murphy is a graduate of Buffalo State College and the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Mo. He served his family practice residency at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and was medical director of the PACE/LIFE program/"Care of the Frail Elderly" along with hospitalist duties at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo.

Independent Health promoted Anne O'Neill to director, enterprise risk management. O'Neill joined the company in 2009 as manager, enterprise risk management. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame.

Roswell Park Cancer Institute's Dr. Alex Adjei, senior vice president of clinical research and the Katherine Anne Gioia chair in cancer medicine, received the inaugural Drug Development Research Professorship Award from the Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. The funded professorship will support Dr. Adjei's efforts to mentor junior colleagues in the areas of drug development, clinical trial design and regulatory science.

Buffalo based attorney Terri L. LoTempio recently opened the LoTempio Law Firm at 147 Linwood Ave. in Buffalo. LoTempio, previously of the firm LoTempio & Brown, is a University of Rochester graduate who obtained her law degree at the University at Buffalo School of Law.

Adoption STAR, a local non-profit, authorized adoption agency, promoted Michael Hill to associate director. Hill, who has been with the agency since 2009, holds a bachelor's degree from Luther College and a master's degree from Buffalo State College.

Jack W. Hunt and Associates, a court reporting firm, named Marygrace Sherry marketing and customer relationship manager. A court reporter with four years of experience, Sherry was with Denall Vitrano & Associates, a court reporting firm acquired by Jack W. Hunt and Associates. Also, the firm named Marilyn Young an administrative assistant, and Denise Reese, James Hagerty, Susan Capobianco and Kathleen Coon court reporters as part of the integration of personnel from Denall Vitrano.

Upper New York State Transplant Services, UNYSTS, appointed Jason P. Bridge vice president of the eye and tissue department. Bridge is a graduate of Trinity College of Hartford, Conn. He has been affiliated with UNYSTS for eight years.

Elbers Landscape Service appointed Jacob Voelker garden center manager. Voelker, who received an associate's degree from Cobleskill State College, was the tree/shrub manager at Lockwoods Greenhouses and Farm in Hamburg and also worked in the gardens department at the Chautauqua Institution in Chautauqua.

Building Controls & Services named Kirk Heston an energy services account executive. Heston has focused on the development and implementation of renewable energy projects and will be primarily responsible for developing energy and commissioning business in western and central New York.

The PCA Group appointed Sam Bumbalo an account executive. Bumbalo is a Canisius College graduate.

The law firm of Brown and Kelly named Kathleen Feroleto an associate. Feroleto, a graduate of the University at Buffalo School Law, will practice in the area of civil litigation, including insurance defense.
