The Acropolis in Greece, the Taj Mahal in India, the Forbidden City in China and Royal Albert Hall in England what do they all have in common? Yanni. The Greek-born New Age kingpin has recently come out with his first studio album in over a decade, called "Truth of Touch." He has been all over the world. And tonight, he is serenading Buffalo.
"I give 100 percent of everything I have during the concert," Yanni promises on a video. "The show is not a repeat of the Acropolis or the Taj Mahal. The show has an edge to it."
Normally categorized as New Age, Yanni also throws in elements of classical, hip-hop, whatever he feels like. For his concert tonight he will feature some music from "Truth of Touch," as well as selections that take him back to his roots.
Yanni performs at 8 tonight in Shea's Performing Arts Center (646 Main St.). Admission is $41-$122. For information, call 847-0850.
