Fishing clinics and contests abundant

Major competitions, club contests and a series of fun clinics for youthful anglers are slated for spring and early-summer starts to the warm-weather fishing season.

Southtowns Walleye Association will stage its annual Perch Tournament Saturday for Lake Erie. The Fish and Wildlife Festival at Hyde Park in Niagara Falls includes a Youth Fishing Contest on June 2, sponsored by the Niagara River Anglers Association. Registration accepted 8-9:30 a.m. at the park pond.
