This crazy weather has been wreaking havoc with us cold and rainy, hot and humid, what season is it? Well, forget the weather. To many, the opening of the Darien Lake Theme Park and Resort spells summer like nothing else.
The park officially opens from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with limited hours continuing through May (the full daily schedule is available online). New this year are seven live shows, including magic, comedy, performing dogs and a hypnotist, plus the "Rowdy's Ridge" family area where kids can enjoy such attractions as Raccoon Rally (bumper cars), Hoot N Holler (miniature roller coaster), Heave Ho! (pull yourself up to the top of a three-story tower) and Hornet's Nest (fly on a tall swing).
Daily tickets are $44.99 at the gate or $39.99 online and at Wegmans. A season pass is $69.99 or $59.99 each with the purchase of four or more. For more info, check out www.darienlake.com.
