TIME OF NEED -- Hospitalized five times since Super Bowl Sunday, Orchard Park High School junior cheerleader Kaely Kwitek has just begun a year and a half of chemotherapy treatments for Stage 4 anaplastic large cell lymphoma.

To raise her spirits and help pay her medical costs, friends, family and classmates are hosting a benefit from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the Chicken Coop, West Seneca Post 8113, Veterans of Foreign Wars, 299 Leydecker Road, West Seneca.

More than 350 baskets and sports memorabilia items will be offered for auction, as well as Florida condominium vacations and a big-screen TV. Five Star Productions will provide music, and a special kids section will have face-painting, animal balloons and cotton candy.

Tickets are $20, $10 for kids 18 and under, and include beer, wine, pop and food. Donations to Kaely also can be made at any KeyBank branch.

SILVER ANNIVERSARY -- The Buffalo Choral Arts Society will honor Marcia A. Giambrone on her 25th anniversary as its conductor and music director in "My Favorite Things," a pair of spring concerts this weekend featuring the 100-plus-member community chorus singing a variety of Broadway hits.
